Valentine's Day Fortune CookieSEVEN days.  One week.  That’s all the time that you have left!!  We helped you last year with your Valentine’s Day planning.  Did you think we would leave you high and dry this year?  You can get the gift.  You know what she wants.  Umm, HELLO!  Have you been listening ALL year?  OMG.  Listen people, if you don’t listen to your Valentine all through the year, we can’t help you with THAT!  But, what we can help you with, since we know you don’t have the time to research all the great Chinese restaurants around, is where to take that special someone someplace special.  And this year, let’s really make a statement.  We’re going to give you a choice of three upscale Chinese restaurants.  Each one is guaranteed to satisfy.  The rest, my friends, is up to you!

Chinese Restaurants for Valentine’s Day

Moonstone Chinese RestaurantOur first choice is a new entry that we reviewed this past year.  It recently re-opened after a complete make-over.  Chef Ramsey would even be pleased.  And we know how hard it is to please HIM!  “Moonstone”, on Northern Boulevard in Great Neck, NY opened on the site of the old Harvest Buffet.  Out with the old, and in with the glitz!  The interior of the restaurant is immaculate.  Of course it’s only a few months old, but we wouldn’t expect it to be otherwise.  But we do feel that it’s going to maintain it’s luster for years to come.  The servers are clearly well trained, and eager to please and will make your dining experience extraordinary.  The dishes were delectable.  For more information, read our complete review of Moonstone Chinese Restaurant.

Pearl East Chinese Restaurant, ManhassetNot far from Moonstone, and also on Northern Boulevard, in the town of Manhasset is the Chinese restaurant pride of the Gold Coast, “Pearl East”.  The Restaurant, though not visually appealing from the outside, presented quite a different ambiance on the inside.  Pure opulence, class, quality, gilt, and more.  You will be well taken care of by the Owner, Managers, and waitstaff.  Not only is the restaurant glamorous, but the dishes were presented in a fashion that we have never seen any other Chinese restaurant go to the lengths to impress with their artistic brilliance!  For more information, read our complete review of “Pearl East”.

Green Leaf Chinese Restaurant Port WashingtonWe seem to be stuck on the North Shore of Nassau County, the Gold Coast, with our selections this year.  It’s not surprising that you find some of the nicest restaurants here.  You might find better Chinese food in Flushing, NY, but you won’t find posh restaurants like these there.  Though some may disagree.  Our third choice is one that was right under our noses the whole time (darned Jewish noses being so big, no wonder we didn’t see it at first!!).  “Green Leaf” is located on Port Washington Boulevard in Port Washington, NY.  The restaurant is owned by Simon, who also doubles as the Chef, Maitre D’, and Host with the Most.  Do yourself a favor, don’t order off the menu.  If you want a real treat, ask Simon to order for you.  You won’t be disappointed.  Definitely though ask for the Port Washington Fried Rice with your choice of protein.  For more information, read our complete review of “Green Leaf”.

So there you have it.  If you’re not located in northwest Nassau County, it’s worth the trip to one of these fine Chinese restaurants.  Get a nice gift for your Valentine, and you can thank us later!

What are you getting your Valentine?

Humbly submitted for your consumption,

Mee Magnum (“Chop!  Chop!”)
