It was such a joy to see all of my friends again the other night, when we convened for the first time in far too long for dinner at Lucky Dumplings in Great Neck, NY.  I had gotten takeout from Lucky Dumplings a few weeks prior, shortly after their Grand Opening, and was so impressed that I implored my friends to join me for a formal Chinese Quest review!  I was anxious to hear what they thought, as the last few restaurants we visited had been a little disappointing.  Would history repeat itself?  Or were we going to get LUCKY tonight?

I've been waiting over two years for Ugly Dumpling to open up in the Lake Success Shopping Center in Lake Success, NY. There are other locations on Long Island, and over 20 locations around the country. It was a matter of time before they opened, wasn't it? Hmmm... So, when the opportunity came to try their location in the Bronx, NY, I jumped on it. Was it worth the wait (well, I'm still waiting for their Northwest Nassau County, NY location to open), and was it worth the drive and tolls, not to mention traffic? Hmm? Yet another authentic Chinese restaurant has opened in Great Neck!  How exciting!!  Wokobowl, Modern Chinese bowls, opened a few months ago at 69 Middle Neck Rd, Great Neck Plaza, NY 11021, and I have been yearning for so long to try it!  And I finally got my wish the other day.  They have a few tables, but I would classify this as a mostly takeout Chinese restaurant. A few months ago, I got to enjoy my birthday with my son, two friends, a horse, and of course, Chinese Food! On the way home from Monticello Raceway, we stopped at O Mandarin, which is located in the Dalewood I II & III Shopping Center at 361 N Central Ave, Hartsdale, NY 10530. O Mandarin in Hartsdale, NY is the sister restaurant to O Mandarin in Hicksville, NY, which we reviewed a few years ago, so I was looking forward to checking out the O Riginal (see what I did there?) Please let me know if you agree with my review in the comments in the article.

Are you looking for a nice upscale Chinese restaurant in the Flushing, NY area? May we recommend JUQI? Well, we ARE going to do just that! JUQI is located in the Tangram Mall, two blocks south of Roosevelt Ave., between College Point Boulevard and Prince Street. There are some interesting stores in the mall you might want to check out while you are there.

Last night, my Meetup Group, Meet & Eat, and Make New Friends (Nassau County / Western Suffolk County), met for dinner at O Mandarin in Hicksville, NY, to celebrate the Chinese (Lunar) New Year.  We ushered in the Year of the Horse.  Gung Hay Fat Choy!!  O Mandarin is located at 600 W Old Country Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801. The food was extraordinary, and the celebration of the Chinese New Year, Year of the Horse, was festive!

A mainstay on the south shore of Long Island, Danny's Chinese Kitchen gets stellar reviews on Google and Yelp!  When the announcement came months ago that they were going to open a restaurant in Roslyn, NY, I was so excited.  The Grand Opening couldn't come soon enough. When the roads were deemed safe, I placed my order and drove over to pick it up. This one dish made it all worthwhile!

Recently, a new Chinese restaurant opened up on Main Street in downtown Flushing.  Kings Kitchen, located at 40-12 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11354, is a sparkling new restaurant located a few doors down from McDonald's and across the street from the New World Mall.  That street looks a little drab, and Kings Kitchen is a step in the right direction to sprucing it up. I tried a new dish that I never have had before. I felt like a native! Can you guess what I had?
