Royal Dim Sum, an authentic Cantonese Chinese restaurant, recently opened at the Samanea New York Mall (formerly known as the Source Mall, or more informally as the Fortunoff Mall) in Westbury, NY. Though not a formal review by The Chinese Quest, The Dumpling King, his girlfriend, and I dined there and were motivated enough to post this review.

Orient Garden, the sister restaurant of The Orient in Bethpage, and Orient Odyssey in Syosset recently opened on the site of the Park City Diner. It was kind of empty the night we ate there. L.O.L BBQ & Grill is a fairly recent addition to the dining options in Great Neck Plaza. Thankfully it's not another Bubble Tea parlor, but a very delicious offering of Chinese street food in the form and skewers and other dishes. Eatery 19, an odd name, and an odd number, for a Chinese restaurant, opened over a year ago in the location that was occupied by Zouji after a fire forced them to relocate to Glen Cove. O Mandarin, in Hicksville, NY, opened a year and a half ago. We dined there a year ago. And now we are prepared to tell you the story of their magnificent Chinese restaurant. They have a sister restaurant, by the same name, in Hartsdale, NY, which has been packing in dining patrons for years. From all of the wood, and some of the Chefs and Wait Staff, that were imported from China, no expense was spared in its construction nor in it's food. Ivory Kitchen is one of the two new authentic Chinese restaurants that opened in the past year in Port Washington, NY. We are thrilled by the insurgence of new authentic Chinese restaurants opening on Long Island, not only because of the influx of new restaurants to try, but it helps keep us on our Quest to find the best Chinese Restaurant on Long Island (and New York City). One of the great joys of our Quest is meeting the owners and hearing about their stories, and their Quest to bring the best of their Chinese cuisines to you. Our latest Quest took us to the newly opened Dun Huang in Syosset, NY. This Chinese restaurant offers Shaanxi cuisine from Northwest China. If you like your food spicy and from a rarely eaten cuisine in the United States, we highly recommend giving it a try. (This article was written in memory of Kevin Dudich, who only loved pizza more than he did Chinese food. RIP)

Zouji Dumpling House is a relatively new Chinese Restaurant in Glen Cove, NY. If you like it spicy and a little salty it is worth trying.
