Mini Mee and I have now been here so often, that The Dumpling King has started to refer to this place as His Palace! The Dumplings are so far out of this world, that it’s kind of like they are in their own Galaxy. In fact, they are. And it is called the “Dumpling Galaxy“, which is located at 42-35 Main St, Flushing, NY 11355 inside the Arcadia Mall on the first floor.
This was a special week in Flushing, as they are gearing up for Chinese New Year, and Dumpling Galaxy had a few special items on their menu for the occasion.
Dumplings, Dumplings, and More Dumplings
Mini Mee’s new favorite dumplings are Soup Pork Dumplings, so we started off with an order of those as soon as we sat down. Of all the times that we have visited Dumpling Galaxy, I think that this was the best batch of Soup Dumplings they have ever served us.
If I never mentioned this before, ALL of the Dumplings that are served at Dumpling Galaxy are not only hand made on the premises, but are also cooked (steamed, fried, etc.,) on the premises. ALL 120+ different varieties of Dumplings on their menu. One of these days I’m actually going to sit down and count exactly how many different types of Dumplings they offer.
Chinese New Year Dumplings
As I mentioned before, they have prepared some special dumplings for Chinese New Year, so we had to try a few, didn’t we? Of course we did!
The first one we tried was the Steamed Rose Dumplings. Oh my gosh, aren’t they just a work of art? Inside this Dumpling was Shrimp, Scallop, and Crab Meat. This was a most delicious dumpling. And quite filling too!
Now, we didn’t want to get, umm, short changed on our visit, so we decided to next try the Chinese Money Dumplings. You can pretty much order any dumpling for this dish, and we decided to try the one filled with Pork and Lotus Root. We sure got our money’s worth, and hopefully lots of good fortune too, with these dumplings.
Ah, Chinese New Year… no holiday has ever tasted so delicious! And it hasn’t even begun yet!
