In this case I’m not actually talking about food. I’m talking about how fast our blog webpages are served up to you. You should be noticing lightning fast response now.
We had been noticing that our pages were rendering slower lately. And, though I’m not a fan of fast food, I do like my webpages served quickly.
Why were the pages loading slowly. Traffic! No, not the traffic on the Long Island Expressway, or the Northern State Parkway (BTW, why do the call the areas in front of our houses driveways when we park on them; and why do they call the roads we drive on Parkways, when we drive on them? Of course, at rush hours, all the roads on Long Island are bumper to bumper and you’re not really driving, but you’re effectively parked. But, I digress!)
Why are we getting so much traffic? YOU! You must be spreading the word of The Chinese Quest. And for that we are thankful and grateful (even if it meant that you’re all slowing down our website. No worries though. We still loves ya!).
Our traffic has risen so much over the last few weeks (since Christmas day, nary a day as gone by when we haven’t broken a record for the number of visitors to our blog our the number of “reads” of our articles. In fact, two days ago we shattered out previous records by nearly tripling the prior highs in each of those categories).
So, it was our (temporary) quest to make your viewing of our website more enjoyable. And that’s what we’ve hopefully done.
I’m going to get all techy and geeky on your now. We installed a WordPress plug in called “Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)” — We don’t compromise on our food, and we sure as heck won’t compromise on our Speed either! That’s “cache”, pronounce “cash”… not “cash-ay”… though we do have a certain cachet (or panache) about us, don’t you think?
I performed a quick test a few minutes ago, and sure and heck the pages rendered quite quickly. I’m thinking it’s going to take a few days to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of said “Quick Chase (Speed Without Compromise)” plug-in. But, in the meantime, if you encounter any issue with our blog, please let us know.
In the meantime, please go on referring our Quest to all of your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and fellow gastrointestinal pleasure seekers. Send email blasts to your distribution lists. Post about us on Facebook, Twitter, and any other sites you belong to.
And stay tuned, we have some VERY exciting Quests planned for the next two months! Until then, stay hungry my friends!
Submitted for your consumption,
