Sad Days at Moonstone

Public Service Announcement

Iun-happy-hourt wasn’t that long ago that I wrote about Happy DAYS at “Moonstone”  Chinese restaurant in Great Neck.  So, what turned that smile upside down?  Well, what’s sadder than going from a Seven Day a week, ALL day Sunday through Thursday, and Friday and Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Happy Hours down to ONLY 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday to Friday?

So sad.  They had a great thing going.  A unique proposition.  It’s not like the restaurant is filled to the rim during “off” hours.  So, why?  I asked the question.  Of course you knew I would.

I didn’t get a satisfactory response.  All I know is that they’re going to lose out on business.  Lose customer satisfaction.  Imagine the shock to the patrons who didn’t know about the switch in hours that was implemented two weeks ago.  What if I didn’t see the sign on the door either?  Imagine, you’re there, having a really HAPPY time only to find out drinks are FULL priced.  That wouldn’t make me happy.  Would it make you happy?

Perhaps ownership will see the error in their ways, and return Moonstone to the HAPPY place that it was before.  And when they do, I, for one, will be HAPPY once again.  And I will give publicity to the announcement too.  Free of charge!  (Perhaps they will give me a FREE Mai Tai!  But, if not, that is fine too).

And if YOU own a Chinese restaurant that offers FULL day, seven day a week (or at least FULL days Sunday to Thursday), please let me know and I will write an article about your Chinese restaurant!

Until then, where should we all go for Happy Hour?  Please post your recommendations in the Comments section below.

Humbly submitted for your consumption,
