The Take-Out Take-Down Final Four

And we are now down to the Final Four!  After four quarterfinal matches whittled the Take-Out Take-Down to the Semifinals!  We started with eight contenders, and now we are down to four.  And after this round, the final TWO types of take-out foods will vie for the Championship of your wallet, palate, and stomach.  Who is it going to be? Which take-out food will reign supreme?  YOU will decide.  YOU will determine the Final match-up starting  TODAY!  Keep reading.  We will examine each semi-final match-up, and after the analysis will be the vote.  Make sure that you read the entire article as you have to make a selection in each match-up.  By next Sunday, the game will be over.  At least for the semi-final round.  Two types of food will be relegated to the trash can, and two will take center stage.

Let’s review how the final four take-out foods earned their spot in the semi-finals.

Take-Out-Take-Down Semifinals

Let’s look at the first semi-final match up:

Pizza vs. Hamburgers

Pizza easily defeated Hot Dogs in their quarterfinal match-up.  Pizza has definitely proven it can stay the course, while hot dogs were an old sensation that seems to have lost their luster, in the hearts of many, through the years.  Pizza parlors are as ubiquitous as Chinese restaurants, so it’s not surprising that their popularity remains high.

Hamburgers have also proven their durability and stamina being an American favorite for nearly a century while Mexican food is an up and comer.  But, in the case of Mexican food it was too little too late.  Hamburgers easily advanced to the semifinals.

So now we have two long standing crowd favorites going head to head in this first semi-final match up.  This battle is difficult to predict and may be too close to call.  We would be eager to read the reasoning behind your selections, so please post a comment at the bottom of the article.

Chinese Food vs. Sandwiches and Subs

Clearly it shouldn’t be a surprise to any reader of The Chinese Quest that Chinese food totally dominated their first round match up against Soups and Salads, for you wouldn’t be here in the first place if you didn’t love Chinese food.  Perhaps the most shocking thing is that they didn’t pitch a shut out.

In the closest match in history of the Take-Out Take-Down, Sandwiches and Subs narrowly, by the slimmest possible margin, defeated Chicken.  Me thinks that Colonel Sanders is turning over in his grave if he learned the outcome of that match.  Sandwiches and subs appeal to the healthy eating style that exemplifies the 21st century mindset of modern man (and woman).

We don’t expect to see an upset in this half of the semifinal bracket, but greater upsets have occurred in the past.

So there you have it.  YOUR Final Four!  Please tell all your friends about our voting so we can ensure a statistically significant result.  This is going to be exciting for sure.  I’m already drooling!!
