From Hunger
Well, it’s not 4am as I’m writing this, but it was 4am (actually 3:55am for those keeping score at home) that I got on this conference call. And now that things have been delayed a bit, so I have a free moment to vent.
What’s a Jew to do at 4am in the MORNING when hunger strikes and there are no open Chinese restaurants around? Now of course if I lived in New York City that wouldn’t be an issue. I’m sure there are plenty of 24 hour Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, Flushing, Jackson Heights, etc. But, I’m on Long Island (If I wasn’t, then this blog would have a totally different Mission Statement).
I would think, perhaps by decree, and mutual agreement, that all the Chinese restaurants in a given geographic and demographic area can work something out whereby on a rotational basis one of them agrees to be open around the clock. In fact, I will volunteer this blog where they can post their availability, with call in numbers for delivery.
I think that’s a fine Community and charitable service we’d be performing.
Don’t you agree?
But, until then, where’s my Chinese food??
Back to my regularly scheduled rant. Err, meeting.
I’m hungry!
–Mee Magnum (“Chop! Chop!”)
This was a day that will live in infamy… as we come up the first anniversary of this date. The post was published about three hours before I got the fateful call from the Pediatrician that we had to take Mini Mee to the nearest ER ASAP. It was the day he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
