A World Series Game 7 for the Ages

Why in the world would I write an article about the World Series on The Chinese Quest?  Because, of course, there’s a tie-in to Chinese food!  I was totally immersed in perhaps the best baseball game I have ever seen, not to mention it being the seventh and deciding game of the 2025 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.  All that excitement makes one very hungry.

Winners BarI watched the game at the Winners Bar, a great Dive Bar, located at 82-67 Broadway, Flushing, NY 11373, which I highly recommend, by the way.

It’s a very nice, very welcoming local bar where all the cocktails are just $7.00 all day.

No food is served directly, but BYOF (bring your own food) is allowed.

The owner of the Bar also owns Q Town Asian Cuisine Inc., a Chinese restaurant on the other corner of Broadway and Whitney Avenue.  A menu is available at the bar, and they will call in the order for you.

The menu is very extensive.  So many choices!  But, what’s the best thing to order to best be able to eat it at the bar?  Kelly (did I mention that Kelly is the owner of both establishments?) made a few recommendations.  I opted for the Beef Lo Mein.  I must say that the beef was excellent.  Nice big pieces that were cooked to perfection, and were absolutely succulent.  The noodles were ok.  Kelly recommended the thick flat noodles, but when she placed the order, they were out of them.  They handmake the noodles each, and when they’re out, they’re out.

After enjoying a nice mid-game meal, the rest of the night was incredible.  An 11-inning thriller, which had something for everyone.  The whole game was a highlight reel.  If you didn’t watch, I would highly recommend at least watching the extended highlights.  Let me make your life easier.  Here they are:

Would I recommend the Winners Bar for a night out?  Most definitely.  Would I recommend Q Town Asian Cuisine for a Chinese Quest?  I think it would be a fun night out for us.  A daily double, if you will, if we combined the two.  If you’re in the area, stop by the Winners Bar, or Q Town Asian Cuisine, ask for Kelly, and tell her that The Chinese Quest sent you.

By the way, please let Kelly know that both establishments are dearly lacking websites, and please do drop a hint that I build websites 😁
