It was such a joy to see all of my friends again the other night, when we convened for the first time in far too long for dinner at Lucky Dumplings in Great Neck, NY.  I had gotten takeout from Lucky Dumplings a few weeks prior, shortly after their Grand Opening, and was so impressed that I implored my friends to join me for a formal Chinese Quest review!  I was anxious to hear what they thought, as the last few restaurants we visited had been a little disappointing.  Would history repeat itself?  Or were we going to get LUCKY tonight?

Fried Soup Dumplings? Yes, please! I heard about them. I was intrigued, so I sought. I was on my own personal Quest to find them. And, I did! In the food court of the New World Mall in downtown Flushing, NY. Go down the escalator to the Food Court, walk forward, and on the right side, the next to the last stall, you'll find Stall #30, Chinese Korean Dumplings and Noodles 中韓面食. Have you tried them? Here? I've been waiting over two years for Ugly Dumpling to open up in the Lake Success Shopping Center in Lake Success, NY. There are other locations on Long Island, and over 20 locations around the country. It was a matter of time before they opened, wasn't it? Hmmm... So, when the opportunity came to try their location in the Bronx, NY, I jumped on it. Was it worth the wait (well, I'm still waiting for their Northwest Nassau County, NY location to open), and was it worth the drive and tolls, not to mention traffic? Hmm? You'll have to read the review to find out. Have you been to any of their locations? If so, please share your feedback and comments on not only your experience, but also on our review.

A few months ago, I got to enjoy my birthday with my son, two friends, a horse, and of course, Chinese Food! On the way home from Monticello Raceway, we stopped at O Mandarin, which is located in the Dalewood I II & III Shopping Center at 361 N Central Ave, Hartsdale, NY 10530. O Mandarin in Hartsdale, NY is the sister restaurant to O Mandarin in Hicksville, NY, which we reviewed a few years ago, so I was looking forward to checking out the O Riginal (see what I did there?) Are you looking for a nice upscale Chinese restaurant in the Flushing, NY area? May we recommend JUQI? Well, we ARE going to do just that! JUQI is located in the Tangram Mall, two blocks south of Roosevelt Ave., between College Point Boulevard and Prince Street. There are some interesting stores in the mall you might want to check out while you are there.

A mainstay on the south shore of Long Island, Danny's Chinese Kitchen gets stellar reviews on Google and Yelp!  When the announcement came months ago that they were going to open a restaurant in Roslyn, NY, I was so excited.  The Grand Opening couldn't come soon enough. When the roads were deemed safe, I placed my order and drove over to pick it up. This one dish made it all worthwhile!

Recently, a new Chinese restaurant opened up on Main Street in downtown Flushing.  Kings Kitchen, located at 40-12 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11354, is a sparkling new restaurant located a few doors down from McDonald's and across the street from the New World Mall.  That street looks a little drab, and Kings Kitchen is a step in the right direction to sprucing it up. I tried a new dish that I never have had before. I felt like a native! Can you guess what I had?

Our Quest took us to Sweet Wonton House, which is located at 253-25 Northern Blvd, Little Neck, NY 11362. The restaurant recently opened and is a welcome addition to the strip of Chinese restaurants along Northern Boulevard in Little Neck. While not exactly a proper sit-down style Chinese restaurant, we were pleased that it was an authentic, Cantonese-style, Chinese restaurant. We had differing opinions on some of the dishes. Royal Dim Sum, an authentic Cantonese Chinese restaurant, recently opened at the Samanea New York Mall (formerly known as the Source Mall, or more informally as the Fortunoff Mall) in Westbury, NY.
