A few months ago, I got to enjoy my birthday with my son, two friends, a horse, and of course, Chinese Food! On the way home from Monticello Raceway, we stopped at O Mandarin, which is located in the Dalewood I II & III Shopping Center at 361 N Central Ave, Hartsdale, NY 10530. O Mandarin in Hartsdale, NY is the sister restaurant to O Mandarin in Hicksville, NY, which we reviewed a few years ago, so I was looking forward to checking out the O Riginal (see what I did there?) Last night, my Meetup Group, Meet & Eat, and Make New Friends (Nassau County / Western Suffolk County), met for dinner at O Mandarin in Hicksville, NY, to celebrate the Chinese (Lunar) New Year.  We ushered in the Year of the Horse.  Gung Hay Fat Choy!!  O Mandarin is located at 600 W Old Country Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801. The food was extraordinary, and the celebration of the Chinese New Year, Year of the Horse, was festive!

2025 was a year of "The Quest" digging deeper. We ventured further into the boroughs, revisited some old faithfuls on the Island, and even argued about whether "authentic" Szechuan is too spicy for a Tuesday night. Here is The Chinese Quest’s Official 2025 Year-End Review.

O Mandarin, in Hicksville, NY, opened a year and a half ago. We dined there a year ago. And now we are prepared to tell you the story of their magnificent Chinese restaurant. They have a sister restaurant, by the same name, in Hartsdale, NY, which has been packing in dining patrons for years. From all of the wood, and some of the Chefs and Wait Staff, that were imported from China, no expense was spared in its construction nor in it's food.
