A slew of new banquet-style Chinese restaurants recently opened along Northern Boulevard from Flushing to Bayside. Canton Manor is the eastern-most restaurant, and we dined there the other night. Empire Garden is located at 61-17 Springfield Blvd., Bayside, NY 11364. From the exterior it looks like a typical Chinese take-out restaurant. Our latest Quest landed us at Nan Bei Ho in Bayside, Queens, New York. The owner Angela Mao was as famous as Bruce Lee, when she was a martial arts film star in Hong Kong during the 70's. We hoped to meet the living legend herself, and have a legendary meal. But alas, all we were met by was disappointment.
