A Solo Review of Tang’s Kitchen

[UPDATE 12/31/2016:  Tang’s has closed.  R.I.P.]

“Soloview”, a made up word.  A contraction of Solo and Review.  My brother’s weren’t around, but it was a holiday.  Father’s Day.  And though not the traditional type of holiday that us Jews would normally make a pilgrimage to the nearest Chinese restaurant for, it seemed like the thing to do.  Especially since we haven’t been out to Suffolk County in a long while.  So, without further ado, here’s my solo review of Tang’s Kitchen.  With the help of Mee Wen Dee and Mini Mee.

Tang’s Kitchen is located at:

96 Sunrise Highway

Lindenhurst, NY 11757

I do believer that there are two or three Tang’s on Long Island.  This one looks like your old traditional Chinese restaurant that you probably remember from the 1960’s and 70’s.  Though it was quite clean and inviting.  The wait staff was friendly and attentive.  They seemed genuinely happy to help.  Ignore the sleeping waiter in the back of the picture.  I know EXACTLY how he feels after spending a day out in the sun, at the beach, and shooting hoops with Mini Mee.

I must say their Mai Tai’s truly hit the spot!

I had one and a half Mai Tai’s.  Darned if I know what happened to the other half!  (Mini Mee is completely innocent).   But after one and a half I felt like Tang’s was heaven on earth!

I love it when they show the pictures of all the drinks.  Makes one want to try one of each.  If only they were presented in color!

But, mine was colorful enough.

So, what did we eat?  We shared:

So, being that not nearly a minion was present, I just wanted to post MY thoughts and review of this restaurant.  It’s a nice neighborhood Chinese restaurant.  I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there, and it wouldn’t have cracked our Top 10 list.  But, it was nice for what it was.  And I enjoyed my Father’s Day treat!

And for all the Fathers, this goes out to you:

Our fortune (cookies) are your fortunes:

Your perceptions are sharpened through careful observation

Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier

A short vacation is in order for you

Your charm today will be almost irresistible, so use it wisely

Humbly submitted for your consumption,
