Chinese as Comfort Food

Heal Me!

Friends,

It’s been a few days since last we posted.  Sorry.  Been way under the weather and finally have enough strength to sit upright… catch up on some e-mail… peruse the internet, and finally get to enjoy a solid meal.  So far it’s sticking in my belly.

What you ask is this magic elixir that has given me the strength to get back on my tush (pun so NOT intended!)?  I say it’s a combination platter (yes, pun was totally intended (though it didn’t start coming out that way.   Eww.  Sorry, I digressed).

It (the comfort food) was a combination of:

  1. Love
  2. Gator/Powerade
  3. Chinese Food

Though last night all I could stomach (bad recurring theme in this post) is the wonton soup.  It went down smooth.  Needed about 12 hours I’d say for it to work it’s magic internally  (it’s like chicken matzo ball soup on steroids). Then today I had the strength (I bet you thought i was going to write “stomach”, didn’t you?  Truth be told, I did.  Then I deleted it), to go for the gusto.  A bowl of white rice and boneless spareribs.

I’m feeling the strength returning as we speak.  To me, writing is also therapeutic when I write … so, you’ve been duly warned.  I might be posting a LOT of the next few days!  At least until we hit the road.

And we’ve got a date/place lined up.  I’m getting my stomach in shape.  So bring on your finest creations and temptations oh ye next hopeful to reach the pinnacle on our rankings (more to come on that in the next post or two)!  The gauntlet has been thrown down.  It’s YOUR turn soon (they will find out soon enough who they are).  Bring us your best game!

So, there you have it.  Chinese food has re-brought me the comfort of good health.  Or, was it love?  Or, a combination of all the above!

Stay hungry (and healthy) my Friends!
