[From the Mail Bag] A Readers Trip to Spicy & Tasty

Once again, we dip in to the mail bag and come up with another great e-mail.  Keep them coming!  This from a reader (and co-worker), Mee Loo Si, who read our review of Spicy & Tasty in Flushing, NY.  And being a lover of spicy foods, and a connoisseur of good taste (yes, she noticed that Spicy & Tasty was a recipient of a coveted Questie!) she just HAD to try this Chinese restaurant the next time she and her husband went to Flushing.

Apparently Mr. Loo Si isn’t one to normally try different foods.  But, wives being wives, and being armed with the recommendation from The Chinese Quest, off they went last weekend.

This is what they ordered:

Spicy & Tasty

Spicy Chicken Szechuan Style – Full of Szechuan peppercorns and the numbing kick along with it, LOVE it!  Not too salty or greasy than some other places I have tried this dish at.  Decent portion size, can easily be shared between two or even three people. Very flavorful and spicy!

Dan Dan Noodles– Served within a blink of an eye,  noodle was slightly overcooked, would have liked it more spicier. But overall tasty 🙂

Sweet Pea Greens with Garlic – Blanched sweet pea tenders in garlic, done just enough, soothing and perfect to calm down my belly with the heat from all the other food.

Bamboo shoot – cold salad, it was already prepared and ready to be served on the tray. Boiled bamboo shoot tenders marinated in hot oil sauce perhaps. I like bamboo shoots no matter what way its prepared! It had a hint of heat to it.

Just a reminder, to please keep those e-mails coming!  We will respond to all e-mails we receive.  And for those e-mails that recommend Chinese restaurants for us to review, or we find of universal appeal, we will publish them along with links back to your website or blog if you have one!

So, please keep sending in your comments and suggestions.
