The Search for General Tso

We’ve all eaten it.  We’ve even blogged about General Tso’s Chicken before.  And now there’s a movie out about it, him, the man, the myth, and the legend.  I must say it looks totally awesome, spellbinding, fascinating, AND delicious!

Here’s the official trailer:

Why The Chinese Quest wasn’t invited to the Premier was obviously an oversight on their part, and we forgive them.  And it doesn’t mean that we still can’t enjoy this movie and share it with our fans.  We still haven’t seen it yet. Does anyone know if it’s in theaters or where we can view it?

But, if it comes to a town near us, you can be sure we will be there.  And we’ll be easy to recognize.  We will be wearing our Official “The Chinese Quest” tee shirts.  I hope it’s not freezing out, or in the theater!  As much as I enjoy air conditioned comfort, I enjoy the comfort of good Chinese food even more.  By the way, the Official “The Chinese Quest” tee-shirts will be offered for sale in the near future.  If you’re interested in pre-ordering, bulk-ordering, or just for more information, please e-mail Mee at [email protected].

General Tso’s Chicken – The Contest!

Do you think that instead of popcorn, they will serve dumplings at the concession stands?  Perhaps General Tso’s Chicken in a basket if they were smart.  And, if they were really smart, they would invite local Chinese restaurants to come and compete against one another to see who makes the best General Tso’s Chicken in town.  And if those Chinese restaurants are really REALLY smart, they will give out discount coupons for dinner at their restaurants.  But, they better bring their A-Game, and their best General Tso’s chicken!

Where’s the best General Tso’s Chicken to be found?  Please chime in in the Comments section below, or on The Chinese Quest Facebook page with your votes.  We’ll tally them all, and we will make a special trip to review the Chinese restaurant that offers in YOUR opinion the best General Tso’s Chicken.  And let’s see if the rest of their dishes can measure up.

Remember, this is a fun competition.  Everyone’s taste buds are different.  Just as everyone’s taste in movies is different.

I, for one, and speaking for all the Mee’s, just can’t wait to see this movie.

Have you seen it?  Please let us know what you think!

Humbly submitted for your viewing consumption,

Mee Magnum  (“Chop!  Chop!”)
