Which Flavor of Ice Cream Goes Best With Chinese Food?

Ice Cream Chinese StyleI scream;  You scream;  We ALL scream for ice cream!  And ice cream seems like the perfect dessert to end a dinner of Chinese food with.  There’s just something about the cool, sweet taste of ice cream that seems to bring all the spices and tastes we’ve just enjoyed to the perfect ending to the perfect meal.  Is it the coolness?  Is it the flavor?  Do different flavors to better with spicy, Szechuan style Chinese food?  Do others compliment Cantonese style Chinese food?

Does your favorite flavor of ice cream differ from the flavor of ice cream that you choose when eating Chinese food?

The poll below is rather cut and dried.  I’m asking everyone to choose the one flavor that they prefer for dessert with Chinese food.  I’m not looking for pairings of foods with ice cream.  One flavor.  Your “go to” flavor of ice cream after the meal.  Heck, I’m not even asking you whether you prefer the ice cream in the restaurant, or whether you prefer Carvel, Baskin Robbin’s, Haagen Dazs, or any other brand.  One vote.  One choice.  One flavor.

I would however like to hear your rationale and whether you have any other comments such as dependencies on the food that you ate, or the venue you prefer your ice cream.

Simple right?  One flavor!  No cheating.  No extra scoops.  No toppings.  Ice cream.  Plain and simple.

So please, answer this question for Mee:

Please, like you would do at an ice cream parlor, add your toppings (i.e. your thoughts and comments… please expound upon your poll selection, and please tell us why ice cream is the perfect ending to the perfect meal.  And after you tell us, please tell all of your friends to come here and vote… and also to read our unbiased reviews of Chinese restaurants!

Humbly submitted for your consumption,

Mee Magnum  (“Chop!  Chop!”)
