Is Chinese Food Healthy?

We all love Chinese food, don’t we?  If we didn’t, we certainly wouldn’t have created The Quest, to find the best Chinese Restaurant on all of Long Island.  But, is all this eating of Chinese food healthy?  We wondered ourselves.  So, we did a little research.

Eat HealthyIn these days, people think it’s more important to look good than to feel good.  And Chinese food sure looks and tastes good.  But, how does it make you feel, and is it good for you?  Well, the answer is a qualified “yes”.  Eating AUTHENTIC Chinese cooking is VERY healthy indeed.  In fact, the Chinese diet might be one of the healthiest diets in the world.

And, lucky for you, our Quest has always been about finding real authentic  Chinese cuisine.  And the added bonus now is that you’ll be eating something delicious, and eating something that’s actually healthy for you!

Sadly, the same cannot be said about the meals that are prepared at some Chinese restaurants or take-aways, where the food is often prepared with highly saturated fats and the meat used is not exactly the leanest cut.  The meals prepared in establishments like this are neither authentic, nor healthy.  And, they will never receive high ratings from us!

Good authentic, and healthy, Chinese food is prepared and cooked with poly-unsaturated oils and does not include dairy ingredients such as cream, butter, or cheese.   So lovers of authentic Chinese cooking are easily able to avoid the dangers associated with the intake of too much animal fat in their diet.

So, to answer the question: “Is Chinese food healthy? the answer is a definitive “yes”.  But, you must be sure that the Chinese meal you are eating is an authentic Chinese meal prepared in the traditional manner and using only traditional and healthy ingredients.

And the best way to make sure that you’re eating authentic, traditional, Chinese food, is to follow our blog and eat along with us.  Be sure to check out our Reviews, and our Ratings.

  1. I like that you confirmed that Chinese dishes are healthy for as long as you will only consider authentic Chinse meals that are prepared in a traditional manner. My sister and I are looking to try Chinese dishes. Since my sister is health conscious, it’s important for us to make sure that the Chinese dishes that we will order once we go to a Chinese restaurant are good for our bodies. Thanks for sharing all your tips.
